Dogs Trust Visit to Prenton Prep

Today the children met Angela from the Dogs Trust. She told us all about the charity and explained how we can make sure that we are safe with Dogs and showed us how to treat dogs with respect to ensure that Dogs are happy. We learned five rules to remember (we will practise these in school with Cookie).

1. If a dog is resting, leave them alone.

2. If a dog is eating, leave them alone.

3. To stay quiet and not be too noisy.

4. To show a dog that we love them, we stroke their side (we don't hug or kiss Cookie in case he doesn't understand).

5. If a dog is playing and takes your toy, ask an adult to swap it with their favourite toy or a treat. The children listened very well and had very sensible ideas.
